1) What is the difference between the SOUNDHERO Signature alarm and the SOUNDHERO Keychain alarm?

The SOUNDHERO Signature alarm is USB rechargeable and is activated by completely removing the ring pin. The ring pin must be reinserted to activate it.  It also has a unique 'movement activated' mode, which triggers the alarm if it is moved (this alarm mode must be set first).   It comes with an independent key chain that is not attached to the alarm.

The SOUNDHERO keychain alarm is battery operated and is activated when you pull the pin out by tugging on the keychain, which is permanently attached to the alarm.  This alarm does not have a 'vibration activation' mode.

2)  Why would I need to use a 'Movement Activated' mode?

This unique feature is an amazing function and is perfect for anyone who lives alone, is in share accommodation, backpacking or staying in a hotel.  Simply place the alarm on a stable surface and activate the mode by holding down the button on the base for 3 seconds, until you hear a beep.  After this, you have 10 seconds before the vibration activation mode will be turned on. Should there be any movement e.g. attempt to open the door handle, pushing a window open etc, the alarm will activate. 

When using the alarm in 'Movement Activated' mode, we recommend that you remove the alarm from the key ring and lay the alarm on a stable surface, as the alarm will be activated with only the smallest movement (including the swaying movement of the alarm on the keychain, it's that good!).

3) How do you turn 'Movement Activated' mode, off?

The alarm is so sensitive to movement, if the vibration activation mode is turned on, it will siren as soon as you pick it up.  To turn it off, simply press the button on the bottom of the base once, or remove the ring pin and reinsert to silence.

4)  When would you use the SOUNDHERO alarm?

Our alarms really are multi-purpose.   They can be activated for any reason, particularly: 

 - whenever you feel threatened or scared, in an attempt to bring attention your way;

- if you're lost, in an attempt to bring attention your way (perfect for children in a playground or shopping centre, campers and hikers)

- as a stand alone torch, because you're in the dark and need some light (great for finding keys in handbags, getting keys into the door etc)

 5)  How long does the alarm sound for, once activated?

The alarm will sound for up to two hours once activated. 

 6)  Who can use the SOUNDHERO alarms?

Anyone can use the SOUNDHERO alarm as there is very little skill or effort required to activate it (a simple tug is all that is needed).  For this reason, our alarms are also recommended for use by children, but it's important to ensure that you show them how, when and why you would use the device before giving it to them.  

7)   Does the alarm require any training?

Each of the SOUNDHERO alarms is very simple to use, however we do highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with how to use the alarm in a controlled and calm space so you know how to use it, should you ever have to (and we hope you never have to!).

8)  Do you offer a warranty on your alarms?

All our products are backed by a one year manufacturing warranty.
